Ingredients

  • 2½ cups of rye flour
  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons of oatmeal
  • 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar
  • 1 packet of dry yeast
  • 4 tablespoons of molasses
  • 1½ cups of warm water
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 2 tablespoons of honey
  • 1 tablespoon of salt

Instructions

  • Combine yeast, sugar, and warm water in a bowl, allowing them to react for five minutes or until the yeast begins to react.
  • In a mixer, blend rye and all-purpose flours, cocoa powder, cornmeal, butter, honey, and salt together with the yeast mixture. Knead the dough until it reaches a soft and dry consistency.
  • Grease a container and transfer the dough into it. Cover the dough securely with a cotton cloth.
  • Allow the dough to rest for approximately an hour.
  • Preheat the oven to 375°.
  • Line a baking dish with parchment paper and sprinkle cornmeal over it.
  • Place the baking tray in the oven and bake for around 30 minutes or until the bread achieves a golden brown color.
  • Once baked, allow the bread to cool.
