  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
  • 1 cup of warm water
  • 4-5 cups of all-purpose flour (about 500 grams)
  • For the topping:
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon of milk
  • 200 grams of shredded cheese

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, dissolve the yeast with a bit of water and sugar. Then, add the rest of the ingredients and knead until you have a smooth dough (about 10 minutes).
  2. Cover the dough and let it rise for about 1 hour.
  3. Divide the dough into 6-8 pieces and shape them into balls. Arrange them on a baking sheet with some space between each roll. Cover them again and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  4. Mix the egg yolk and milk, then brush it over the risen dough balls. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
  5. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and bake the rolls for about 20 minutes or until the cheese is melted and golden brown.
