Ingredients

  • 150 g cold butter
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 250 g all-purpose flour
  • 100 g powdered sugar
  • 2 packets vanilla sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit) for both upper and lower heat settings.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine 150 g of cold butter (cut into small pieces), 2 egg yolks, 250 g of all-purpose flour, 100 g of powdered sugar, and 2 packets of vanilla sugar.
  3. Use your hands or a mixer to knead the ingredients together until a smooth dough forms.
  4. Once the dough is ready, roll it into small balls, each about the size of a cherry, and place them on baking sheets lined with parchment paper.
  5. Using your thumb or the back of a small spoon, make an indentation in the center of each dough ball to create a well.
  6. Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes, or until they are just set and remain light in color. Be careful not to overbake them.
  7. Remove the cookies from the oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Once the cookies are cooled, you can fill the indentations with your favorite jam, jelly, or frosting, if desired.
