Here’s how it’s done:

Ingredients:

For the Crust:

  • 200g (7 oz) Butter
  • 160g (1 1/4 cups) Sugar
  • 300g (2 1/2 cups) All-Purpose Flour
  • Zest of an Organic Lemon
  • 1 Egg

For the Filling:

  • 800g – 1kg (about 2-2.5 lbs) Tart Apples
  • 3 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon (feel free to use more 😍)
  • Juice of a Lemon

For the Custard:

  • 3 Eggs
  • 3 tbsp Milk
  • 3 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Vanilla Pudding Powder

For the Streusel:

  • 180g (1 1/2 cups) Flour
  • 2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 80g (1/3 cup) Sugar
  • 150g (2/3 cup) Butter
  1. Knead the ingredients for the crust into a dough.
  2. Peel and chop the apples. Mix with sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice.
  3. Whisk the eggs with milk, sugar, and vanilla pudding powder until foamy.
  4. Place the dough in a 26cm (10-inch) round baking pan. Then add the apples and the liquid.
  5. Knead flour, cinnamon, sugar, and butter into streusels (the longer you stir, the bigger the streusels).
  6. Sprinkle the streusels on the pie.
  7. Bake the pie at 160°C (320°F) convection for 1 hour.
