Ingredients

  • 1 pack puff pastry
  • 1 pack vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 cups milk
  • Strawberry or blackberry jam
  • For the topping:
  • 1 egg yolk
  • Powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (392°F) on both top and bottom heat.
  2. In a saucepan, prepare the vanilla pudding mix by combining it with sugar and milk. Cook according to the package instructions until thickened. Let it cool slightly.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry and cut out heart shapes using a cookie cutter.
  4. Spread a layer of jam onto half of the heart shapes.
  5. Spoon a dollop of the prepared pudding onto the jam layer.
  6. Place another heart-shaped pastry on top of each filled one to create a sandwich.
  7. Brush the tops of the pastries with beaten egg yolk.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Once baked, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
