  • 14 oz sweetened flake coconut (1 standard bag - about 396 grams)
  • 2/3 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon ground Saigon Cinnamon
  • Zest of 2 oranges
  • 1 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 egg whites
  • 6 oz dark chocolate for melting


  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the coconut with cinnamon, orange zest, and salt until evenly coated.
  3. Pour the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract over the coconut mixture, stirring until well combined. Set aside.
  4. Using a mixer, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
  5. Gently fold the beaten egg whites into the coconut mixture until fully combined.
  6. Using a medium cookie scoop, portion out 19 mounds onto the prepared baking sheets.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and the tops appear set. Allow them to cool.
  8. Meanwhile, chop the dark chocolate and melt it in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  9. Once the macaroons are cooled, dip the bottoms into the melted chocolate and place them back on the parchment paper.
