Homemade Braided Bread

Fresh, homemade braided yeast bread 😍😊 It always tastes amazing and is so simple to make 😍😊

Here’s how to do it 😊


For the Dough:

  • 500g All-Purpose Flour (Type 550)
  • 230ml Milk
  • 20g Fresh Yeast
  • 5g Salt
  • 50g Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 70g Soft Butter
  • Zest of 1 Organic Lemon

For Brushing:

  • 1 Egg Yolk
  • Pearl Sugar (as needed)
  1. Gently warm the milk.
  2. Put all the dough ingredients into your stand mixer and knead for 10 minutes at medium speed.
  3. Cover the dough and let it rest in a warm place for 1 hour.
  4. Divide the dough into 3 balls, each about 300g. Roll these into strands.
  5. Braid the strands together to form a loaf.
  6. Let the braided loaf rest, covered, for 30 minutes.
  7. Brush the loaf with egg yolk and sprinkle it with pearl sugar.
  8. Bake at 170Β°C (convection) for 25-30 minutes. Place a tray of water in the bottom of the oven to create enough steam.
