  • Cupcakes:
  • 4.2 oz applesauce/apple puree
  • 9.7 oz coconut yogurt
  • 2.8 oz chocolate spread
  • 2.8 oz coconut sugar
  • 2.1 oz vegan chocolate protein powder
  • 3.2 oz gluten-free all-purpose flour
  • 0.9 oz cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 3.5 oz chocolate chips
  • Frosting:
  • 3.5 oz dairy-free butter
  • 2.8 oz chocolate spread
  • 0.4 oz cocoa powder
  • 1 oz powdered sugar
  • 0.7 oz vegan chocolate protein powder
  • Toppings:
  • Colorful sprinkles or 100's & 1000's


  1. Preheat the oven to 340°F and line a muffin tray with 9-10 cupcake cases.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the applesauce, yogurt, chocolate spread, and sugar until smooth.
  3. Fold in the protein powder, flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, bicarb soda, and chocolate chips until combined.
  4. Evenly distribute the batter among the cupcake cases. Smooth the tops and bake for 20-25 minutes. Let them cool.
  5. For the frosting, beat together the butter and chocolate spread in a medium bowl.
  6. Once combined, add the sifted cocoa powder, sifted sugar, and protein powder. Beat until light and fluffy.
  7. Pipe or spread the frosting on each cupcake, top with sprinkles, and indulge in the chocolate goodness!
